MIGRATION
2008, 2009 PRODUCER, DOUG AITKEN WORKSHOP
Shot in over 75 hotel and motel rooms across the country, Migration is a multi-screen projection installation that explores the transitory nature of the modern condition. In Migration, the movements of wild North American animals are transposed upon the familiar, yet oddly vacant and sterile space of modern roadside hotels and motels. The animals interact with these familiar but anonymous pattern of interiors that make up the contemporary American landscape. The film alternates between multiple billboard screens allowing the viewer to determine their own vantage to experience the beautiful and haunting visuals and amazing score composed by Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe. The piece has been installed in multiple locations as exterior projection mapping as well as onto custom-manufactured roadside billboards.
