The SOURCE

2012, 2014 Producer, Doug Aitken Workshop

First commissioned by SKY Arts and installed at the Tate Modern in Liverpool, the SOURCE is a moving-image experiential installation that uses projection mapping and directional sound to showcase conversations with leading figures in the fields of art, architecture, music and film. Housed in a minimal, free-standing pavilion, designed in collaboration with UK architect David Adjaye, the SOURCE installation redefines the nature of exhibition space. In 2014, a revised design of the SOURCE was installed at the Sundance Film festival with new conversations. An interactive website, released in conjunction with the installation, mimics the experience of the pavilion, allowing the viewer to move through the conversations in non-linear but intuitive ways. In addition to overseeing filming, installation, web design and PR, we worked with the SKY Arts and the Tate Modern to launch the cable network’s first of ongoing sponsorship series. We also partnered with the Sundance Film Festival and the Marciano Art Foundation to oversee construction and installation for two further installations.
